Our axolotl caves are handmade in our own workshop in the Netherlands. All CeramicNature caves are made of brown ceramic, which is safe for humans, animals, and nature. They are available in 3 different sizes and have a brown tree trunk color and texture. The structure of the cave is recreated by CeramicNature based on trees from nature. Since we handcraft everything, each item is unique. The interior is smooth, and the exterior of the decoration has a tree trunk texture with multiple knobs.
The Axolotl caves do not have side openings, which is perfect for Axolotls so they cannot get stuck inside.
Aquarium
The axolotl caves are the ideal hiding spot for axolotls. With their lifelike tree trunk appearance, they blend nicely with real wood and our background designs. The caves also serve as hiding spots for botias, catfish, crayfish, and other fish species.
Additionally, you can adorn them with various types of plants and mosses such as java moss or anubias. Use aquarium glue or fishing line to secure the plants to the ceramic for the first few weeks. Afterwards, the plants will securely attach to the ornament.
Terrarium
The axolotl caves are widely used as hiding spots for reptiles and amphibians such as frogs, geckos, bearded dragons, snakes, etc. Made of ceramic, they are also perfect for use as moist or warm caves. The ceramic's porous nature allows it to effectively retain warmth or moisture. Sustainable Ceramic Our ceramic is 100% safe for humans, animals, and the environment. The logs have a long lifespan and are handcrafted from ceramic. Since the color is baked into the clay, it will never fade, making them easy to clean with a soft sponge and warm water.
