Mixcolour Caves

Ceramic Nature makes the mix colour breeding caves in 5 different sizes:

• Breeding cave mix colour Xsmall: 13 x 5 x 4 cm
• Breeding cave mix colour Small: 16 x 7 x 5.5 cm
• Breeding cave mix colour Medium: 20 x 8 x 6 cm
• Breeding cave mix colour Large: 25 x 10 x 7.5 cm
• Breeding cave mix colour Xlarge: 28 x 12 x 8.5 cm

The mix colour caves are handmade in our own workshop in the Netherlands. All Ceramic Nature breeding caves are made of ceramic, which is safe for humans, animals, and nature. The breeding caves mix colour are available in 5 different sizes and in the colour mix colour.

Stacking Plates

For stacking the breeding caves, we recommend the stacking plates. These are available in 3 sizes and in the colours terracotta red, brown, and mix colour. The stacking plates can be used with the breeding cave dens, Xsmall, small, and medium.

• Stacking plate small: 14.5 x 12 x 5 cm - 2 breeding caves underneath and 1 on top
• Stacking plate medium: 22 x 12.5 cm - 3 breeding caves underneath and 2 on top
• Stacking plate large: 32 x 12.5 cm - 4 breeding caves underneath and 3 on top

Aquarium

Breeding caves mix colour are used in the breeding of various L-numbers (Harness catfish) and are ideal hiding places for other catfish, lobsters, shrimps, botias, kuhli, etc. Harness catfish (L-numbers) use breeding caves to deposit their eggs, often guarded by the male until they hatch.

For breeding L-numbers, we recommend using several shapes and sizes so that the L-numbers can choose which one they like best. Besides the mix colour breeding caves, we also have rectangular breeding caves, D-shape breeding caves, triangle breeding caves, XXL breeding caves, and catfish caves. L-numbers will choose a cave not much bigger than themselves, so take this into account when buying. Also, try to place the breeding caves in different flow directions, as the fish will appreciate this. If you don’t want to breed fish, breeding caves are also very fine hiding places for botias, large crayfish, large shrimps, catfish, etc.

L-numbers

• The Xsmall mix colour breeding cave is suitable for small L-numbers up to 13 cm, such as Bristlenose Ancistrus, L002, L015, L046, L104, L129, L340, L400, L411, etc.
• The small mix colour breeding cave is suitable for L-numbers up to 16 cm, such as L046, L102, L129, L136, L144, L181, L199, L201, L236, L260, L262, and L397.
• The medium mix colour breeding cave is suitable for breeding L-numbers up to 21 cm, such as L066, L070, L144, L201, L204, and L333.
• The large mix colour breeding cave is suitable for larger L-numbers up to 26 cm, such as L070 and L264.
• The Xlarge mix colour breeding cave is suitable for the largest L-numbers up to 30 cm, such as L075, L081, L128, and L200.

Terrarium

The mix colour breeding cave can also be used as a shelter for various reptiles and amphibians such as frogs and geckos. As ceramic is porous, it absorbs moisture and heat, making it perfect for use as a moist or warm shelter.

Durable Ceramic

Our ceramics are 100% safe for humans, animals, and the environment. The breeding caves have a long lifespan and are handmade from ceramic. As the colour is ingrained in the clay, the colour will never disappear. This also makes the breeding caves easy to clean. Cleaning is easy with a soft sponge and warm water.
