The Ziss Aqua GL-1 Breeding Box is specially engineered to protect livebearing fish fry immediately after birth. Featuring a smart funnel-shaped plate, it ensures that newborn fish fall safely through a bottom opening where they are out of reach from the mother—eliminating the risk of predation and dramatically improving survival rates.
At the base of the GL-1 is a fine stainless steel mesh panel that promotes constant flow of clean, oxygen-rich water from the main tank. This steady circulation stimulates faster growth and enhanced coloration in juvenile fish. The mesh is also fine enough to prevent shrimp or nano fish from escaping, making it ideal for mixed-species breeding systems.
The GL-1 includes an integrated air lift system in the center to generate additional gentle flow inside the box. This system ensures a continuous exchange of water, keeping the breeding box in sync with the aquarium’s temperature and parameters—no acclimation required when transferring fish in or out.
It comes equipped with two flexible mounting systems: strong suction cups and a hanger bracket for easy placement.
