Savu Pod – Strong Tannin Pod for Natural Aquariums
A powerful botanical for blackwater tanks and natural hiding spots.
The Savu Pod is a seed pod from the Cariniana legalis tree in Brazil, valued for its strong tannin-releasing properties—even more potent than Catappa leaves. These tannins lower the pH, reduce stress, and create antibacterial effects in your aquarium. Ideal for shrimp, dwarf cichlids, bettas, and small catfish, the Savu Pod also offers a perfect hiding place on the substrate.
Its sculptural look and dark coloring help mimic natural environments, making it a favorite in blackwater and biotope aquariums.

How to Use

Fun fact: Savu Pods come from the Brazilian Cariniana legalis tree, commonly known as Jequitibá. The name is derived from the region where these majestic trees grow in abundance.
