The GL-1 breeding boxes from Ziss Aqua are specially designed for breeding livebearing fish. The breeding boxes feature a funnel-shaped plate inside the box where the small livebearing fish fall through; here, they cannot return, preventing the mother from eating the young fish. The GL-1 has 1 integrated stainless steel mesh at the bottom, ensuring a good supply of fresh and oxygen-rich water, leading to faster growth and better coloration of the fish. The stainless steel mesh is fine enough to prevent shrimp from escaping.

In the middle of the box, there is an air lift to create extra flow in the breeding box. Due to the water circulation system, the water in the GL-1 is constantly refreshed. The significant advantage of this is that the water in the breeding box maintains the same temperature and water parameters as the aquarium, eliminating the need for acclimation before introducing the fish to the breeding box. The GL-1 comes with two hanging systems.

The breeding boxes from Ziss Aqua are available in 3 different variants, with the numbers following “BL” and “GL” indicating the number of stainless steel meshes. In the GL-1, the bottom is made of stainless steel, in the BL-2, the sides, and in the BL-3, the bottom and the 2 sides are made of stainless steel mesh. The more meshes, the more fresh water enters the breeding boxes, promoting fish growth.
